

DATE FILLING:
Combine ingredients in saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Cool.
CRUMB MIXTURE:
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13” pan. Mix brown sugar, butter and shortening until smooth. Stir in Bisquick, oats and cinnamon. Mixture should be crumbly. Press half of this mixture in pan, spread date filling on it. Top with remaining crumb mixture, press gently. Bake 35 – 40 minutes, until light brown. Cut into bars. Makes 20-24 bars.
